My Dad was a commercial Plumbing and heating contractor , and started work in Tacoma Wa.! And found out there was work in Kodiak Alaska , just prior to the 1964 earthquake and tidal wave! And then got more repair and new construction work!

Well my Dad passed away in 2004 , but probably did a few million $ in work in Alaska? And from what I know , after the State allowed drilling oil on the N Slope, they settled a lawsuit with Natives to build grade 1-12 schools in all major villages, And my Dad did the plumbing/heating in Kivalina, Shishmaref, and Nulato, and other places

I recently read a book about the history of mining on the Kenai Peninsula. The book mentioned Sydney Lawrence as being “knighted” by King Edward VII before Lawrence left Europe. It also mentioned that Lawrence tried his luck at mining on the peninsula
